• How many bedrooms does your family need and are you wanting to add on a guest room or a granny flat?   
• Do you need a study or home office?
• Is a main living area adequate, or would a home theatre and separate living area be better suited to your family?
• Where do you want the bedrooms located?  
• Consider how much bench space you would like in your kitchen and laundry.
• You can not have too much storage space - work out where it would be beneficial in your house.
• Do you want a walk in pantry or prefer a separate scullery?
• Do you need an activity room near the bedrooms or a separate games room?
• Do you want an adequate size outdoor entertaining area and where do you want it to connect to the house?
• House orientation - will the house face the sun?
• Where is the garage situated, which side or rear of home?
• Do you need to store a trailer or boat - is there enough space?
• Will you have a shed or pool in your backyard?
